Jing (jingproject.com) is my new favorite tool.
It can be used to take screen shots or screen video (screencasts).
It’s a very light install and works on mac or windows machines. It waits patiently at the top of my screen as a cute little semicircle (looks like the sun). Hover over it and click an option and it goes into capture mode.
Using a connection to screencast.com it also provides online sharing of screencasts or images. Once shared it puts the link to the content in the clipboard for easy inclusion on a website or email.
It’s dead simple to use and looks good too
